Real Estate Agents in Cuenca, Ecuador

Posted in: Cuenca Ecuador, Ecuador Real Estate

Can you recommend a real estate agent in Cuenca? We want to build a complete listing of all the agents and agencies in Cuenca Ecuador.

cuenca-ecuador-real-estate-agentsWe are frequently asked about real estate here in Cuenca. But we don’t know many agents – because we haven’t used one before.

What we are looking for, is a complete listing of all the agents (and agencies) in the city of Cuenca (and surrounding areas – including Paute, Gualaceo, Chordeleg, Giron, Santa Isabel and Banos).

Are you a Cuenca Real Estate Agent?

Perfect! You can submit your own company. Self promotion is perfectly acceptable. There is no charge for inclusion in the list, even if you submit yourself.

Cuenca Real Estate Agent Submission Guidelines

Please include the following information:

  • Real Estate Company name
  • Agents Name
  • Web site
  • Email address
  • Phone (landline and/or cell)
  • Physical Address
  • Specific comments – if you have done business with them, areas they represent and any specialties

We will compile all submissions into a listing, and there is no favoritism. There is no charge to submit or be listed. If the company is selling or renting real estate in Cuenca, then we want to list them.

Hi, today is 6/29/2016, whats up with all the posts that are 4-5-6 years old? Anyway I am planning in being in Ecuador within the next 2 months and will be looking for a house with a number of bedrooms and baths or a building that can be reconfigered into a hostel, or a up and running hostel. I believe I would like to be in a hippster area in Cuenca, have cash and vast building and rental exp. I am not dead set on a hostel or Cuenca, any part of country and a deal that makes sense could work. Don’t waste my time if you drive to make this happen, contact me via email, with your email and phone and any ideas you may have. Thank You

is better to work with real estate professionals, we make no difference with foreigners, we fulfill the rules of the community, there are many who take advantage in this area who know only the language and does not know the middle.

Hi everyone, I’m here to help you with your real estate needs in Cuenca. I am an independent agent that specializes in making sure your purchase or rental transaction is handled fairly. I returns emails promptly and promise to not waste your time if I can’t assist you – in exchange, please be fair to me. I handle no more than 4 transactions at a time and this allows me to be available to you.
I’ve been married “into the Cuenca life” now for 18 years and have a great team around me (i.e. R.E. Attorney & Notary) to make sure your transaction/needs are done correct.

    Thank you,

Hello! My son and I are coming out to Cuenca in February; I’m looking into moving out there in the next year (hopefully, if not sooner!). I’m looking for a 2 bedroom…home preferred…I do have a 75# dog (she’s about 9 years old), who is very well-behaved…doesn’t bark very often, etc. My son would be living with me probably about 1/2 the time. I’m thinking close to Cuenca, but probably not in the city itself. Can you help us with this? Was thinking maybe you could either take us around a few places or something like that. Thank you!

If you are looking to move to Cuenca we do provide real estate tours that are available that will give you information about the laws, regulations & how is the life in Cuenca. (Buy Cuenca Ecuador) pricing is the same as what is for people living in Cuenca, we do not charge the buyer for real estate services the seller will pay us 3% not the buyer. Hi Bryan,
The Herredia family that we lived with in their nifty Calle Larga studio for two months – nicest people. They develop old buildings into nice, shiny new sleek modern apartments, then sell them off. They’ve done three buildings and have a new one in the works. These always sell off very quickly.

You can see our original studio, one of two studios they have where they also live. Calle Larga Apartment

The guy is Juan Heredia and he spends his time as director of Terra Diversa Travel on Hermano Miguel, phone (5939) 920 4832. If this is appropriate and what you’re looking for, I can get him in touch with your blog but I thought I’d ask first.

  • Mike and Patty Jun 6, 2012, 9:28 am

My wife and I have been trying to find a house or apartment to rent in Cuenca. We will be in Cuenca later in June. I have sent e-mails to three different agencies, including two that advertise regularly on the internet, in an attempt to make an appointment. I haven’t received a reply from anyone.
I don’t understand the problem. Are they too busy? Nothing available?
    It’s very frustrating.
    Thank you.

    • Bryan Haines Jun 6, 2012, 9:49 am

Hey Mike and Patty – I’ve heard similar comments about many agencies.

  • Carlota Pesantez May 2, 2012, 10:33 am

    Hello Bryan,

We are a construction company dedicated in building homes of all types, prices, places etc. However, we are currently building an inclosed community of nine homes in Yunguilla, La Union. Located just three hundred meters north from the road of la union. This comunity includes: pool, whirl pool, multiple court, a social area with beautiful landscaping for everyon to enjoy, plus the breathtaking view.
We are now at the process of selling them and we need some help of a reliable and responsible real estate company to de the selling for us. Can you recomend us to a few we can interview?
Also, wanted to congratulate you on your website, we think it a big help for a lot of people new here.

    Thanks again!

    Carlota

  • Michael Berger Jan 5, 2012, 10:29 pm

    Hi Brian,

What you are doing getting feedback from clients about specific agents is a good idea because our industry attracts people who are incompetent and unethical.
Here’s a bit of shameless self promotion. I’m a bi-lingual full time Real Estate agent with a little over two and a half years of experience working with For Sale properties in Cuenca. The people that approach me to help with their property search are generally those who insist on a first world level of competence and professionalism. Over time we have managed to bring a higher level of accountability and transparency regarding commissions and policies to the local Real Estate industry. In addition we have made headway by introducing the concept of holding money in escrow for property purchases down here.

    Thank You,

    Hi Bryan,

I am a fellow Scotian (Yarmouth) though I have not lived there from some time my family is still there! LIke you, we are a family struggling to find enough time to be with our eight year old b/g twins and make a decent living. We traveled to Ecuador for the first time last January and fell in love. We have been back several times and actually purchased land in Bahia. We love the sea! After speaking to many north americans, we realized many people feel the way we do. We are creating a an eco development for north americans just outside Bahia. I would love to offer the readers of your blog special pre-launch pricing. My husband David will be in Ecuador on January 9th and perhaps you could meet. If you are open to hearing more, please let me know and I will send you all the information you need to make a decision.

Thanks for your time and your blog filled with reliable, unbiased information.

The conversation on renting-finding a home sounds reminiscent of what people (expats) go through here in the P.I..My view is to go and “get a feel” of the market and make sure that it is a place and neighborhood you like.I have moved 6 times in the past 12 years and after selling our home am moving again into a temporary rental.
No experience is better than hands on and being there a while as every ones tastes are different.
To me it sounds like there are bargains there and typically places overpriced. No different than here and rents seem to be going up everywhere along with everything else.If you want a real bargain move to Detroit.L.O.L.
Hopefully we will be there soon “house hunting”.
