When in Quito, we are always amazed by the number of shopping malls (I know, a couple of small-town hicks, right?). Well there are two shopping centers that were really different. They are both towers, that spiral up about 8 levels – no stairs. There must be about 100 different stores in each. And of course, once we walked to the top we realized that many people take the elevator to the top, and walk down – instead of the other way around. This one is located on Avenida Amazonas near Avenida Naciones Unidas. There is another one, also on Avenida Amazonas down near Parque El Ejido. The stores are pretty plain and boring but the mall itself makes a pretty great attraction.
