Ecuadorian Families Enjoying Parque la Carolina, Quito (Video)

Posted in: Ecuador Travel, Living in Ecuador, Quito Ecuador

Parque la Carolina is a huge park right in the center of Quito. We always go there every time we visit Quito.

Last month we enjoyed a day at Parque la Carolina in Quito Ecuador – and it was full. There were thousands of people – mostly families – playing, picnicking and enjoying a Sunday off. Family time is highly valued by Ecuadorians.

The day had a feel of a carnival, with cotton candy, paddle boats and fried foods. We are sharing this video, to give other Gringos a glimpse into family life in Ecuador. And to show that life isn’t scary here – far from it, in fact.

I live across the street from this park and go every day (actually, twice a day) with my dogs. This park is amazing….something for everyone: early morning zumba, running track, skate park, dirt bike track, exercise equipment, basketball/ecuavolley/soccer/tennis/Ecuadorian handball courts, jungle gyms, paddle boats and so much more. It is a great family (and dog) friendly environment with great views of Pichincha and sometimes Cotopaxi too. The weekends are the best with kites flying everywhere and the sounds of laughter all over. I love Parque Carolina!!!

Oh My God!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait to retire and go to beautiful, friendly, traditional, family loving and elderly respectful Ecuador.
When I watched the video, I was right there in my heart.
I will get there. The more I see, the more sure I am that is where I want to be.
