I have lived and worked, as an English Language teacher, in the Philippines, Indonesia, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and Cyprus. I find that Ecuador is appealing as a retirement haven, and it reminds me a lot of the Philippines, which has similar culture, Spanish colonial history, scenery and climate. I feel that the 90 day per annum rule for visiting Ecuador is excessive, particularly as I wish to return there, and I hope that this will change. The answer wil be to apply for a further three month extension on my next visit and then for a residencial cedula.
    Alan
