Super Puppy – All About My Ecuadorian Pup

Posted in: Living in Ecuador, Traveling Kids

Super Puppy!

I got my puppy 1 month after we moved to Ecuador. She really helped me to adapt. We got her at Cuenca’s local market, the Feria Libre. She was $30 but later our friends said if we were local, only: $3! She was full of fleas and parasites, but we soon purified her! I named her Chica, because all the other gringos called me “Chica” (Spanish for little girl).

The reason I say “Super puppy” is because she greatly reduced my culture shock. When we moved here I didn’t have any friends, but when I got Chica, I had an instant best friend!  In my opinion, she is the best dog ever!

chica waiting for me to come and play with her, CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a ‘super puppy’? I would love to hear about him/her! If you give me a description, I will illustrate your puppy and send the pic to you!

I have 3 “super puppies” who make my life better since I moved to Mexico a few months ago and don’t have many friends yet. I have 2 boys dogs, Bingo and Buddy and 1 girl dog, Bonnie. They are funny, and keep me very busy. They each like being brushed but Bingo doesn’t like baths. Bonnie is learning to play catch. Buddy is the biggest but he thinks he is a lap dog.

I enjoy your blog and suggested that my grandchildren subscribe. I hope they do.

Hey Drew! You asked if anyone had a super puppy- when I was younger than you are, my brother had one! His name was Archer & he was a border collie- black & white & chubby with rolly poly puppy fat. He was super- his paws were so big! I remember looking at his great big feet and thinking- “wow- how big will he be when he grows into those?” I had a great view of his feet, as they were usually all over me!

    Love your blog!
