Weekly Photo – Galapagos Pineapple Plant

So probably not all that interesting if you live where pineapples are grown. But growing up in Nova Scotia didn’t give me the chance to see pineapple on the plant. On day 4 of our Galapagos trip we visited a farm with bananas, papayas, oranges, vegetables and pineapple. This was significant for me – because I couldn’t even picture how it grew on a plant. Looks kind of awkward. It’s kind of like bananas. I didn’t know until we moved to Ecuador that bananas grow upside down – at least from my perspective they are.
